The Marine Solutions Business Division provides high value-added technologies across the entire retrofit and newbuilding process, while delivering integrated lifecycle management for vessels. Through advanced solutions such as FSRU conversions and eco-friendly electric-propulsion vessels, it contributes to the protection of the marine environment and expands its presence in the global newbuilding market by leveraging Hanwha Group’s engine and battery capabilities. Furthermore, it aims to broaden its future marine solutions portfolio through the development of next-generation vessels for Arctic operations.
Research Areas
Engineering & Procurement Solutions for Eco-Friendly Electric Propulsion Vessels
Based on Hanwha Group’s capabilities in engines, batteries, fuel cells, and electric propulsion system integration, it delivers customized vessel design and integrated engineering and procurement solutions. It provides optimized solutions that ensure electric propulsion system reliability, support compliance with environmental regulations, and enable economically efficient vessel operations.
Development of Battery Hybrid Vessels
We develop electric propulsion vessel design technologies based on high-performance battery systems to address decarbonization and environmental regulations, including zero- and low-carbon emission operations.
Development of Vessels for Arctic Routes
We develop design technologies for icebreaking vessels to enable safe and independent year-round operation in Arctic waters. We also explore the application of ammonia-based dual-fuel propulsion systems to support environmentally responsible operations in Arctic environments.
