Hanwha Engine’s volunteer corps continuously carries out a wide range of social contribution activities, supporting talent development and independence,
environmental protection, and assistance for underprivileged groups to foster a culture of community and coexistence.

Volunteer Corps Introduction

Hanwha Engine’s Volunteer Corps collects a portion of its members’ monthly salaries and spare change to create a social contribution fund. The company matches 100% of employee contributions through a matching grant program, and the fund is used each month to support talent development and self-reliance, environmental protection, and assistance for underprivileged groups.

Self-Reliance Education

Support for the Growth and Independence of Students with Special Needs

Hanwha Engine has signed an MOU with Changwon Cheongwang Special School and conducts various activities to support the students’ independence. We operate sports programs that help participants develop physical fitness and emotional well-being through structured activities. In addition, we actively collaborate in operating school-based enterprises and participate in meaningful exchange programs.

Supporting Their Dreams

Support for Children’s Group Homes

We have formed partnerships with small-scale facilities known as “children’s group homes,” which provide personalized care tailored to the needs of children with special needs, supporting their growth, independence, and dreams. Through financial support and experiential activities, we deliver hope and inspiration to these children. Currently, we support four group homes in the Changwon area, promoting children’s growth and independence through educational support such as after-school classes and self-reliance programs.

Career Exploration

Support for Yanggok Middle School’s Free Semester Program

Through employee volunteer and talent-sharing programs, we support free-semester programs for students at Yanggok Middle School by helping students explore their interests and aptitudes. In addition, we actively participate in community engagement initiatives through industry–academia volunteer work in collaboration with Yanggok Middle School students.

Environmental Conservation

Maintaining the Bongam Tidal Flat Ecological Center

We carry out various activities to maintain the Bongam Tidal Flat Ecological Center, located near Hanwha Engine. We provide resting areas for migratory birds, upgrade facilities, and conduct environmental cleanup efforts—such as collecting discarded waste—to maintain a clean environment where crabs, worms, and halophyte plants can thrive.

Marine Cleanup

Marine Environmental Cleanup Activities

Near Hanwha Engine’s shipping dock in the Namcheon area of Changwon, we collect discarded Styrofoam debris, empty bottles, plastic, and other waste to help keep the sea clean.

Community Care and Support for Vulnerable Groups

Medical Outreach

Support for Elderly in Isolated Areas

We provide traditional Korean (oriental) medical services and meals to address nutritional imbalances for residents of isolated island communities and elderly residents in rural areas. We also improve local living conditions to prevent social challenges by repairing and maintaining aging facilities.

Rural Cooperation

Assisting with Rural Farm Work

During peak farming seasons when labor is scarce, the Hanwha Engine Volunteer Group assists local farms with tasks such as harvesting persimmons, thereby supporting rural communities.

Small Love Volunteer Club Activities

Since the company’s founding in 2000, employees have voluntarily formed a volunteer club called “Small Love” which provides regular monthly volunteer services at nearby care homes.

Blood Donation and Sharing

Practicing Love Through Blood Donation

All Hanwha Engine employees observe “Heart Day,” a company-wide blood donation initiative that promotes a culture of giving. Donated blood certificates can also be used for employees and their families in need of emergency transfusions, extending the impact of each donation.
